Biography

Piano Moments pianist, Crystal Morrow, is a versatile soloist who has performed her musical artistry for audiences both big and small. Whether playing the piano for weddings, corporate or social events, this Edmonton pianist showcases her many years of musical experience.

Born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, Crystal has been playing piano since the age of five. During her formative years, her musical talents were cultivated by some of the finest teachers in the Edmonton area, including Mrs. Sherri-Lynn Jahrig and Mrs. Janet Scott-Hoyt. Their instruction and guidance were instrumental in helping Crystal develop her musical sensibilities.

Spending the summers of her high school years studying music at the Courtney Youth Music Centre in British Columbia enabled Crystal to enrich her musical education. While at CYMC, she had the opportunity to study under the excellent instruction of Dr. Robert Silverman and Mrs. Ellen Silverman and to perform as a soloist and accompanist.

An award-winning performer in music festivals and talent competitions throughout the years, Crystal also excelled in practical examinations conducted by the Royal Conservatory of Music. She received First Class Honors standings in all grade levels, and in the eighth grade, attained the highest mark in the province of Alberta. In 1988, Crystal’s studies through the Royal Conservatory of Music culminated in being awarded the Associateship diploma in Piano Performance (A.R.C.T.).

Crystal went on to pursue further studies in Piano Performance at the University of Victoria’s School of Music in Victoria, British Columbia. Under the instruction of the renowned Dr. Robin Wood, Crystal continued to develop as a pianist. She enjoyed the many opportunities to perform both solo and ensemble works in public. Upon her return to Edmonton, Crystal had the great privilege of working with Dr. Ernesto Lejano.

Currently, Crystal lives in Edmonton where she enjoys performing for corporate functions, weddings, and other special events. She is in high demand due to her exceptional musicianship and consummate professionalism.
